Absolutely fantastic hotel :) the staff were helpful and friendly, both reception and breakfast staff were really lovely. We had included breakfast in our booking and the food was amazing! Swimming pool and hydro pool were both great - clean and quiet on weekdays. Hotel had ample parking and was in a great location with the rest of the town easily accessible by foot.

Brilliant hotel. Excellent location - well trained staff. Feels like an old school hotel in terms of service quality but up-to-date decor and amenities. Really wonderful stay - we will definitely be back. Lovely bar area and beautiful room. Particular mention to Mendal (I think was his name) whose service at breakfast was exemplary.

Enjoyed the breakfast. Tried most things on the menu at some point during our stay. Staff were very polite and efficient. No waiting or queueing. Could go back to the cold buffet table as often as required. The location is fabulous, right in the centre of Ambleside.

The food in the hotel was excellent. Choice at breakfast was plentiful, and the quality of everything served, excellent. We also ate in the evening on 2.of the 3 nights spent in the hotel. The food was good, plenty of choice and value for money. Staff both at breakfast and in the evening were pleasant and service excellent. The spa was lovely after a day out walking. So very relaxing. A beautiful place to.spend time. The twinkling lights in the ceiling reflected in the pool and the suspended chairs providing a soothing rocking, providing a feeling of getting away from it all. Outdoor jacuzzi was also great. Even the bathroom in the bedroom had jacuzzi bath.

The hotel is well located in Ambleside just a short walk from lake Windermere in a large village with lots of amenities and close to walking routes. Parking is good, with a secure car parking space for every guest. Reception is lovely with a bar and lots of lounge space for relaxing. Staff welcomed and came over to inform us that the room was ready, as when we arrived a little early wasn't quite finished so we had a drink whilst waiting. Room was a suite which was well decorated and clean. Because its a corner room maybe wasn't as big as others as we'd seen in the pics but was still a lovely suite. Nice big bathroom with jacuzzi style bath, walk in shower. Bed was huge and comfy, with a separate lounge area both had tvs. Balcony with hot tub was a key feature why we had paid for the suite, a little open to the front as our room was at the front of the hotel so not as discreet as you would like but was good. Other suites appeared a little better in regards to location so will make sure I note this next time. Hotel bar wasn't expensive like some hotels can be and the food was excellent from the breakfast which was outstanding to the dinner which again was lovely. All in all, a lovely hotel that met our expectations, a bit more privacy on the terrace and it would have been a full 10 out of 10 but still a very good 9.5!

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in in the UK. Fantastic location, spotlessly clean and well decorated throughout, breakfast was fabulous, staff were excellent all very helpful and attentive. The spa was one of the reasons we booked this hotel and it didn't disappoint it was lovely. You have to book to use it but we never had an issue for the times we wanted. We will definitely be returning next year I wouldn't go to any other hotel in Ambleside now!

Very good choice of breakfast. Waiter service but self service for continental buffet. Replaced water, towels and toiletries every day. Nice touch. Tea making facilities ( and coffee). Comfy bed. Good pillows. Plenty of towels and small fridge. First room they gave us was small and cramped. I asked for a different room as we were disappointed. Very helpful receptionist Changed the room immediately.

We have stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world and i must say, that this was one of the finest hotel breakfasts we have ever had. The continental selection was excellent, the made to order breakfast was fantastic, with many additional options to choose from at no extra cost. Although this sounds odd the toast which was brought to the table (a selection of white and brown bread) was piping hot, you would be suprised how often that is not the case. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. There was ample parking on site.

Staff are exceptionally friendly and make substantial efforts for guests where nothing seems too much trouble. Breakfast service is exceptional, well run and good choice of food. Spa is clean and the booking system ensures that it is not overcrowded at any one time. Generous lounge area for relaxing in evenings.

Located in picturesque village of Ambleside, which is a 10 minute walk from the top of lake Windermere, this hotel has everything you need, and more! We stayed for our first wedding anniversary celebrations and greeted with complimentary wine on arrival, the room was immaculately clean. the spa facilities were 10/10, with a heated outdoor jacuzzi, pool, steam room and sauna, perfect for relaxation after a long day of walking. The breakfast was lovely, and the service was impeccable. You really do feel looked after at this hotel and staff cannot do enough to help. We didn’t want to leave!
